Protein Birthday Cake Recipe by Myprotein

Myprotein Birthday Cake – 12 years Strong

Ingredients
Granulated Sweetener – 16 g
Self-Raising Flour – 125 g
Baking Powder – 5 g
Myprotein Milk Protein Smooth – 75 g
Myprotein – Coconut Oil (Coconpure) – 90 g
3 Eggs
Almond Milk – 200 ml (save 50ml for making protein dessert)
25g Myprotein Protein Dessert (Salted Caramel)
400g Black Ready Roll Icing
Decoration of choice

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180oC
2. Place the coconut oil in a microwavable bowl and melt until smooth
3. In a mixing bowl add the dry ingredients protein powder, self-raising flour, sweetener and baking powder and mix
4. Now add the wet ingredients eggs, 150ml almond milk and melted coconut oil and mix everything together into a batter (Note add more milk if necessary)
5. Pour the batter into two different size circular tins
6. Place the cakes in the oven and cook for 25 – 30 minutes
7. Remove from the oven when golden brown and allow to cool
8. Roll out the icing into a large enough circle to cover the biggest sponge
9. Make the protein dessert by adding the dessert powder to a bowl and 50ml almond milk and mix until well combined
10. Spread the protein desert thinly over the top and sides of the sponge and allow it to soak in for a few minutes
11. Place the rolled icing over the top of the cake tucking in all sides and cutting off the excess
12. Roll the excess icing into a ball and reroll out
13. Flip the whole cake over spread with protein dessert and place the second lot of the rolled icing onto the cake, cutting round the edges and crimp together
14. Repeat process again for the smaller cake
Building the cake:
15. Cut the large cake in half placing them cut side down on the cake base
16. Repeat for the smaller cake placing on the outer sides of the large cake
17. Using a plastic doweling tube press into the centre of both large sponges position evenly
18. Decorate with letters and numbers of your choice
19. Spray with shine spray to give then cake an extra glazed look
20. Enjoy!
